Next upgrade!!!

Well, today i got in my hands my HKS Actuator and Greddy E manage Blue that i bought the other day. I'm planing on installing those today, but before that, i'm going to take this opportunity to remake my car wiring loom.. why you may ask??, well, the thing is that I'm having a lot of electrical problems mainly because when i did the engine swap the mechanic was the one that did it, and he was no expert in that department. Wish me luck!!! I'll keep posting on how is progressing.

Photo time!!!

I took some pictures of my car the other day while my brother was fixing his, so here they are!!!

And the last one.... i was bored at work

Time to breathe better....

So i was thinking, since i have all the piping that i was going to use for the other intercooler, let's use it with this one and clean up a little the engine bay. So i decided to paint the engine top cover.. Also, i found a timing belt cover so let's paint it too!!!!

The top:

The first layout of the engine bay...

Let's make a shorter air intake!

This simple thing change the feel of the car completely, i feel it pulls and pulls to the rave range, is greeeeeat!, btw thank to this little mod i don't have a clutch anymore =D. Now i have to look for one....

A little bit on the bumper....

So, a lot of people have asked me how i did the bumper in my car, i can tell you it was a very good experience that i just don't want to do it again. Working with fiber glass is messy and itchy. First of all, this is the first time that i work with fiber glass on this level, i'm not an expert and for the knowledge that i have, the bumper turn out pretty good. Well enough talking, let's go the visual side of this....

btw, we used a chalk, foam, duct tape, a dremel and a lot of patience with this one!

First, i need an objective, what is going to look like...

This is what me and my brother aimed for, a m3 look a like bumper. My bumper already had two holes for halogen light that we did back then.

Ok, measure as many times as you need and do one cut!

The cut out.

the mess!!!

Duct tape is your friend!

Now to start working with fiber glass, the correct equipment.

Fiber Glass Time!!!

Still doesn't look that nice...

I think i mess up my bumper...

After grinding a lot, and a little bit of prime

Voila!

Another update on the car!

By December 2007 i bought a new manifold and down pipe for the car, the brand is Autobahn88, which is a cheap Chinese company that makes intercooler kits and manifolds. Also i bought a Greddy M-Spec intercooler and new piping. Unluckily for me, I'm selling the intercooler as is too big for my application. Almost forgot, i bought a new clutch too(just a stock one that is slipping like a mofo right now...) and a HKS SSQ Blow off. And i painted it!!!!. OK, here are the pics.

Manifold and Down pipe.

Car with the new intercooler.

Gettin it ready for painting

Painted!

With the new bumper that i made!!!(right now i'm using the old intercooler because fitting problems and that the new one is just to big for me =(.

old vs new

My new rims too!!!!!

That's all!

The Beginning

Hi to everyone .

A little introduction first, I'm from the Caribbean, Dominican Republic to be exact. I'm a Mazda 121 owner that has been interested in turbo cars for a long time now, since i was in high school, when i first heard the whoosh of a blow off valve. Since then I've been reading alot of how turbo works, etc.

In Jun 2005 i was talking to a friend who used to own a 1989 Toyota Cressida with a 1GGTE engine in it, he was telling me about engine replacement, and that if i want a turbo car, i could consider in replace my 1.1 liter Mazda engine with a more powerful and turbo 1.3 liter starlet engine. So i began my research, i talked to a lot of people to hear their opinion in that subject, also my research on internet lead me to sites like www.austarletclub.com and www.toyotagtturbo.com, i read a lot of information and decided to do it.

Now that i had investigated of the motor itself(4EFTE) i had to sit and start to work on my budget. First off, the entire engine itself without coil and map sensor was US$ 715.00, the coil and map sensor where US$ 135.00, the installation itsleft, talking about workmanship only was about US$ 570.00, all the extras like, front mount intercooler, blow off, etc. where like US$ 429.00, new brakes and so other stuff where like US$ 143.00, after some math i got my budget calculated to a total price of US$ 2300.00(with gauges and other stuff) for an engine replacement, so i thought it was worth it and i went for it.

A long from then i'm driving the only mazda 121 turbo in my country(as far as i know) and all the people here love it. Is really fast and like the power this engine can develop. The car is still work in progress, also, all the time in a mechanic shop did no good to the interior, but i'm going to continue working on it. I haven't still dyno it yet cuz i got a little clutch problem right now(it came like that), but besides that, is working real nice :D .
Here are some pics of my car:

Well i hope you like my little proyect, and give me your thoughts about it, also i want to apologize if my english isn't so good. Throw me anything you like me to do to it, any mods for getting more hp anything.

Also i don't know what much hp I'm getting of wheels, what's the stock hp of a starlet in wheel, cuz at the flywheel is like 133 i think, well anyway, c you guy's later. need to second post to the other images.
